I'm having breakfast looking out my window at a sunny sky and a snow covered ground. I'm told it is cold and by the weather bug graphic on my computer it says its 20 degrees. I guess winter is now here though I've enjoyed the warmer temps thus far. I do long to be back in Florida though.
I haven't been much of a journaler, so... doing this blogging stuff will be a bit of a challenge for me. I'm hoping I will get use to it as time goes. You know it's like anything we do that is new to our routine. We have no habits of doing the new thing, so it's all about fitting it in. I had to do this last year when my wife and I got a gym membership. It took some doing to make time to excersise. I did make it a habit going 3-4 times a week. I did feel better too, but had to drop it when I left my call. I was pretty sad about it... but when you lose a third of your income, something has to go. Over the past 6 months I've gain back what I've lost... that makes me mad (I was going to insert some explicitive), needless to say... I've moved on.
I had a couple of FB messages concerning my first post concerning the phrase about somtimes I may get nasty. Well... I said this intentionally to get your attention. It worked didn't it? How is it when people say or write negitive comments it draws most of the attention. We see it in the political process, our work inviroments, even at church. Seems we mostly focus on the negitive attributes of people, places, and things. Why? Wouldn't be much more productive to shine light on the positive good things? Wouldn't be more pleasing to talk about issues that can and should make a difference? It is my intention to do this. To look at life as the glass half full, but sometimes I just might have to get nasty... human nature I guess. However, I do hope I can keep the "nasty" in check because in the end, nobody really wants to listen to someone get nasty.... each of us all too often resemble nasty all too much.
This reminds me of the story when Jesus tells his friends when someone strikes our right cheek, to turn and let them strike the other. He goes on to say things about loving your enemies, and forgiving. Oh... how I wish we could demonstrate and express that attribute more fully.
